RAMS

RAM-Random Access Memory
Different Types Of Rams

FPM RAM
FPM - Fast Page Mode Ram.It is a type of dynamic ram , Most 486 & Pentium based systems from 1995 and Earlier use FPM Memory

EDO RAM
EDO - Extended Data Out Ram. This Ram Released in 1995 , This is new type of memory available for Pentium based systems. This ram is modified form of FPM ram. Most early pentium based systems use EDO

SD RAM
SD - Synchronous DRam is type of DRam . This Ram is Released in 1996 , This is capable of running at 133Mhz Which is made popular choice for new systems in 200 . This ram is 3 times faster than FPM Ram & Twice Faster than EDO Ram . Most Pentium & Celeron systems purchased in 1999 have SD RAM

 DDR RAM
DDR - Double Data Rate . Which is type of SD RAM . It has main stream in graphics card market and has become the memory standard

DDR2 RAM
DDR2 - Double Data Rate 2. This is new version of DDR . Which is twice as fast as the DDR Ram. This is came out in mid 2003 and the first chipsets  that supported DDR2 came out in mid of 2004.

DDR3 RAM
DDR3 - Double Data Rate 3. This is Released in 2007. This is higher speed successor to DDR & DDR2. This give maximum transfer rate of 6400 MB/s

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN DDR,DDR2&DDR3

RAMBUS (RIMM) RAM
RAMBUS RDRAM is a type of ram of its own , it came out in 1999 , It was developed from traditional DRAM but it architecture is totally new . It would get 16 bits of data at 800MHz
